Formula development

When developing a lollipop formula, it is particularly important to take into account the final taste and color of the product. The development stage enables us to test the incorporation of vitamins and minerals into the formula, so that we can see a final rendering of the product without the need for high-volume manufacturing.

The manufacturing process

Premix - preparing the mass

Key ingredients such as sugar (or another component for sugar-free lollipops), flavoring agents and selected sweeteners are weighed and then mixed in a vat to obtain a homogeneous distribution.

Some components, such as active ingredients, flavouring agents and sweeteners, which are sensitive to heat or other factors, are not added to this mixture in order to protect them.

Cooking and cooling

This mass is then brought to the boil to create a viscous mixture. As the mixture cools, we add the sensitive components of the formula, such as active ingredients or colorants.

Casting

The mass is poured into specific molds that will give it its final shape. Numerous standard molds are available, and we can produce customized molds on request. This casting process is generally facilitated by automatic lollipop-forming machines. At the same time, lollipop sticks are inserted into the candy before it hardens completely. The formed lollipops are then cooled again to solidify their structure.

Demolding and drying

Once cooled, the lollipops are ejected from their molds and passed through a drying tunnel to harden. They are then placed in food crates and stored for several hours in drying chambers to harden completely.

Individual packaging

Once dried, the lollipops are taken out of their crates and individually wrapped with the stick to ensure protection from light and oxygen, as well as greater product stability. After packaging, the lollipops can be packed in boxes as required.
